Taking some time out

I've decided to take a little time off as a few things I need to do personally. I'll be starting again in June 2011.

This month has been full of amazing things, such as Obama declaring that Bin Ladin has been killed. Sure this came out when Obamas popularity vote started to slip...
And some people are demanding photos and proof he was dead and calling the burial at sea 'fishy' Honest, bin laden should not of had a burial or a Tomb or any other place that could become a worship ground for anyone.

Next was a few more earth quakes around the world... Some church in the states declaring may 21 as rapture day... I think they need to reread revelations.

Gas has come to Canada as a all time high at 1.50liter and they are calling for even higher then that.

I'll be blogging for a bit but no videos. I was really disappointed with the green screen on my last video and decided to change the screen.

I predicted that the NDP would take opposition and with recent polls it show that I predicted the future! Apple Iphone white is now out. Voyager has been in space for 30 years now. RIM quarter results are disappointing but not it's death bed. Green Lantern Trailer (4min) is out. And a little more environment propaganda...

I had a large rant about how Microsoft needs to invent something for once. Windows Interface for Windows 3.1 = Xerox, Windows 95 = Apple OS, MSN = AOL, MSN Messenger = AOL/Yahoo/ICQ, Windows CE = Palm, Zune = Ipod, etc.. etc. But it was boring, so I simply cut it out! :) Video feel from 9min to about 3min. Perhaps that's a video to it's own.

P.S. Should I keep the "And that makes me a Angry Canadian" with a slight anger? Or should I really put feeling into it as if I really were ANGRY! I get comments on both ways.

Let's play WHAT IF - What if NDP got official opposition?

After listening to all the leaders for the parties talk I've come to the conclusion that this election is about nothing. There is no hot issues such as immigration, national security, abortion rights, defining marriage, debt reduction, economic issues, the list can go on and on...

This election is all about the party leaders and it's taken on an Obama election hype. However unlike the united states we don't elect a president, we elect a party that represents us as individuals and the party elects some to be the Prime Minister of Canada.

If the Conservatives don't take a majority the NDP take official opposition, they will join with the Bloc and try to become a minority government.

And if that coalition happens I sure hope that the governor general steps in and stops that from happening. It's an insult to create a party that has different values then the one that was running for the election.

Pre-Election Jitters

So I decided to go and head to the Advanced Polls, since this landed on a weekend and my job is keeping me way to busy to even think about taking time off to go vote during working hours. But what surprised me was the turn out there. The lines were all the way out to the door and into the streets! Have Canadians finally decided to wake up and actually go out and vote?

Reading the news and watching what is going on I find it very interesting that the NDP is making the Liberals stand up and take notice. The Liberals this time is attacking both PC and NDP at the same time? I really don't think this is wise on there part... I still barely know what the Liberals stand for these days and I know more about the NDP then ever before!

I made a bold prediction early on that the PC will have a majority and the NDP will become the official opposition party of Canada. And I still stick to that. But I am no political guru but I have noticed that a few people I have talked to who have voted for BLOC are now voting NDP... Which I don't understand.

Let's see where the chips fall.

The funny part about this entire thing/sad part really, is that at the end of it all the other parties can still come together and do a vote of no confidence and this election will be for nothing.

Video 14 - Shot at for a $30 dollar crime

This is Canada and NOT America. When a police officer decides he's going to pull out a gun and actually pull the trigger, he better be doing it for the right reasons. Shooting at a car that is driving away is not one of those times... Now I have shot a 9mm all the way up to a 50mm handgun and I can tell you that the accuracy is not there. What if the bullet went astray and hit someone? This is a move right out of Hollywood.



With the new Earth Day International, I found it very ironic that after a large "Earth Day" rally on the Hill, the place was left as a pig stye.. Wrappers, Plastic Water Bottles, etc.. This is all from people who want to save the earth. It's a joke. It's again a bunch of people who don't have anything else better to do then rally around an idea that they don't really support. What they should of done was broke up into groups and walked around and cleaned up the streets, sidewalks, ditches.. THAT would of made a difference!!

I can't stand fear mongering. When a news outlet hears about something that has a little "scare" to it, they abuse it to the maximum! Recently the idea that ALL iphones are calling home so that Apple can stalk you is ridiculous!! The phones do that on purpose, so that you can find your lost phone.. or if someone stole it.. you can track it! If you don't want this feature, turn it off in the location services in the menu. Esh!

Video 13 - Every Vote Counts

Changed the background, was starting to look stale. It's a splash painting of the Canadian flag. I know I mentioned I was planning a interactive video but it's harder then it seems and I'm not sure how it will turn out. But I'm still making it.

Today I talk about how your money is the same as voting and how the RCMP tazed a 11 year old boy. I don't care if he had gun in his hand, that's just WRONG! Also talk about UBB and a nice video on that. Here.
and a little on how one person was arrested and 35% of all the world spam stopped! Crazy.

Video 12 - April 2011

I had a little fun with the intro :)



I've been trying to figure out a way to talk about the british monarchy and Canada honor to it for when Queen Elizibeth steps down. Canada has her face on almost all of our currency and do many things in the name of the Queen. I'm all for this, since she is the one who set Canada free in 1982 with writting a bill saying that Canada can make it's own laws with our her oversight. This is when Canada truely became a nation onto it's own.

Justice League from DC is also making a movie, but instead of using the known Batman and the new Rebooted Superman, they plan on using a different Batman and a different Batman. Why?? WHY?! WHY!!! Why not make some continuity with in the DC Universe?

Episode 11 - April 2011

Some people have asked me for a tech tip video, as most of the people who know me.. always get me to fix/look/advise them on there computers problems and potential purchases. I have over 15 years of IT experince and thought I would start with a simple speed up your own computer tip with the MSCONFIG tool that is built into every Windows OS since Windows 2000sp4. And at the same time, talk about some of the free applications that when I install a new computer that I always put on.



Also worked on the rear image transitions. Nothing earth shattering but it's better then just fade in/fade out. I also tried working on speeding up the tempo.

I also wasn't very angry! :) Which is the point really.. I'm never angry as I'm a Canadian!

End of a Era: TV Show Round Up

Smallville is finally coming to an end next month and everyone I know is wondering if the show is going to lead into a new show called "Metropolis" based on Clark Kent first years as Superman. I'm hoping for somthing like this to happen... even if this show took many MANY creative liberties to the cannon Superman story.

Stargate is finally coming to an end, with the death of Star Gate Universe. As bad as the acting is, they were trying somthing different. The story was just moving to slow and unlike other StarGate shows, where you could just jump in and there would be a beging, a middle and end. This show ran like one really long show. If you missed any of them or saw it out of sequence, you were lost! I wasn't suprised at all when I was told this show got cancelled.

Dr.Who is coming back in April and as much as I still miss the last two doctors, this one is starting to grow on me. Or maybe is Amy Pond... either way I'm enjoying the reboot of this series and hope they don't let the magic fade away.

StarWar Clone was has been a really long story of nothing. I can't blame them as the writers are always walking a fine line of Cannon and rewriting history.

Canadian Political Parties

I'm going to review each of the parties in Canada.

NDP: This is a blue collar party who is working for the average man but falls short on looking out for Canada as a nation. They don't see Canada as a world leader but as a simple member of a import / export conviance store.

BLOC: This party has a open agenda to separate the Province of Quebec from the remainder of Canada. They claim the English are taking away from the French heritage that they have created. A true French Quebecer does not speak the same style of French that you will find in France. But the BLOC still wants to keep the pension plan and the health plans and about everything they get from Canada but yet be considered a different nation. These guys need to try again sometime soon and if it fails again, the idea should be outlawed for another 200 years.

Conservatives: This is/was the current government of Canada and have a business approach to most issues. They see Canada as a world leader and think about the international business. But they forget about the lower income people of Canada. They guided us to economic stability but they can't take all the credit as many of the bank rules that saved us was made when other parties ruled parliament. They are trying really hard at keeping the Canadian dollar at par to the American dollar. They have been in a minority goverenment for the last five years and have yet to form a majority government. So the other parties have always been consipiring that they should all join up and form a new "alliance" and over throw the current ruling party. This party has been around since the conception of Canada in some form. The current Priminister of Canada and Conservative leader has had some bad press prior to the election and after this election it maybe time for another Conservative leader to step up to the plate.

Liberals: This was the former leading party that had a majority government for 10 years in a row. They always go for the easy votes like, visible minorities and other select groups. Near the end of there last term as ruling party, they were riddled with scam after scam after scam, making most of Canada turn there backs on them. Since there defeat they have had a string of leaders that have has lacked that "showman ship" that is required to run a country and most people today are unsure of who the leader is as they have changed so many time in the since the defeat. This party is the offical opposition party of Canada and in the recent years have voted against motions that started when there party was in power. It's all very confusing.

Green Party: It's wasted vote and the leader is crazy. No one takes this party seriously and has over 5 million give to them since they do hold one seat in the House of Commons.

Video 10 - Let's Get Political

Talking about the newly disolved Parliment, Earth Day and introduced the blogsite into the youtube video. Why not eh'. I didn't talk about that Futurerama has been renewed for a 7th season, ya! Nor did I talk about the political parties individually, that got way to boring. I'll leave that for the blog site.

The audio sounds a little hollow then normal, I didn't change anything.. when it comes to that. I'm going to have to figure out how to get audio working better.



Here I attempted to use one long single video feed with long transition poses and then edit it up into pieces and cut out what I didn't flow. This was harder then it seemed. With this style, I can see the function of a marker. Coughs, lip smacks, dry mouth all get in the way.

Earth Day: The real deal

So it's the 5th annual Earth Day tonight at 6:00pm for one hour. This was created by an Austiallian group and has become a globally adopted as a feel good / awareness thing to do.

DID YOU KNOW: Turning off the lights technically doesn't achieve anything and infact if everyone did actually turn off there power for a hour would burn out all the powerplants and cause nothing but chaos.

So this is a green movement that is a feel good about your self event. It's to promote awareness is all I hear, but never has said what I am to be aware of exactly. Turning off my lights is to make me understand that the powerplants are still running at the same level as before? I am to be aware of what it's like to have no tv, radio, working lights or a microwave?

DID YOU KNOW: That any electricity that is generated has to be used with in minutes of it being generated or it will just fade away? The power plants are not design to work or generate different levels based on demand but rather work hard at guessing(using statistics) at what is needed. Summer months they try to generate more for everyone due to ac units and in the winter generate less.

Will I participate? Maybe... That is if my kids mention it. If they do, I will. Just for the guilt that has been pushed onto them from the green movement and not because it will make a difference. But I will explain to them that it is futile and it's just a symbol. If people want to make a difference then make a real difference and not this.

It's Canadian Budget Time

This is when we get to see what the goals of Canada is this year. The problem with this years budgets is that it's expected deficit growth is going to continue to grow and that gives the opposition part of Canada (liberals) some ammo to use agaist the Offical party of Canada (Conservatives).

To the short term and short sighted Canadian this is a big deal! But to me this is expected.. You have to spend money to make money. We just missed a global ressession that is still effecting other countries even the great United States of America has been greatly effected.

If the budget does pass it will be with the help of the NDP.

The other issue is that the disillusioned Liberals plan to pass a vote of no confidence agaist the Liberals (that didn't work out well for Queen Padme in Star Wars) to try to push there agenda. The problem is that the no confidence is with the Liberals still and if they call an Election I can see the NDP becoming the opposition party and the Conseratives will become the Majority party (currently a minority party).

It's going to be an interesting week in the Canadian politics world.

Video 9

In Video 8, I left the video by saying that "Jar Jar Binks is a Sith Minon" I wouldn't of wanted to give him a title like Sith lord. Okay, so if your not a Star Wars fan, first of a Sith is the Evil version of Jedi.



I made this video in my mind about 20 different ways and none of them could get onto camra like I wanted, so I decided to just make it more in my style with just the effects added in to give it a "Star Wars" flavor. Added a little distortion to my voice and wallla, I think I look like that blue hologram from Star Wars 4, where Princess Leia is projected from R2-D2's projection lense.

The idea is there but I wanted to make it more "Court" style. Perhaps I'll attempt that again for the next one...I could talk for hours about the Star Wars movies. It's not a great story line and it's actors loosly called actors at best. But I have an addiction to Star Wars and I'm proud.

I had some lighting issues with this one, not sure what happened there.

Japan needs our prayers and Rogers and Fido allows "Asia" to be texted to donate 100% of 5$ from your phone bill to the Red Cross.

Oh and Jar Jar binks is a Sith Lord minon... think about it.

America wants to Tax Canadians who are flying into the United States. Yes, it's only 5 dollars but the over all cash is in the Billions. United States is cash strapped and I understand that, but it doesn't mean you get to tax us. We're friends, or at least I thought we were.

First attempt at Green Screen. For my first attempt it worked and at the same time I was testing it, I decided to attack the Green Cult of the Carbon Foot Print. Some things just drive me crazy and the idea of getting away from this standard "simple" light bulb is nuts. If anything, we should skip right to the LED light bulb.. now that's an improvement.
